Joseph Wasson was appointed to consultant at East Kent Hospitals in 2016. He is now one of the top otologists (ear surgeon) in Kent, specialising in complex ear surgery, hearing implant surgery, hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness and balance. He also has considerable experience and expertise in treating a wide range of paediatric and adult general ENT conditions including rhinology and sinus surgery.

Joseph graduated from University College London and completed three prestigious, world renowned fellowships in Cambridge and Melbourne; allowing him to further enhance his knowledge and skills in his specialist field of otology. To further add to his impressive training, Joseph completed an MBA at Warwick Business School, which he passed with distinction.  Within the NHS, Joseph is lead clinician for the ENT department at East Kent Hospitals; and chairperson for ENT at the Kent and Medway integrated Care Board.  In these capacities, Joseph is reforming and improving ENT, otology and hearing implant services across Kent.

Joseph has extensively published his research and presented his work both nationally and internationally.  He has been awarded a number of prizes and scholarships in recognition of his work from respected institutions including the Royal Society of Medicine; The British Association of Otorhinolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons; and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Joseph lives in Whitstable with his wife and two children.  He enjoys running, cycling and paddle boarding and has completed a number of triathlons and marathons.
